Shoes

Get some animal print ones not now, but RIGHT now!! Preferably leopard/cheetah. I never thought I'd be advocating any of the big cats in a fashion sense but I am an accessory lady first. One time when I was sick and missed class, my spanish teacher was like, "where is Stace? You know, the one with all the hats?" Then there are my scarves. I LOVE scarves!! I'm a firm believer that accessories make the outfit. I am the type to wear a white racerback tank, some jeans and the fiercest shoes/purse/belt. Throw in a scarf or hat; sometimes both a la Alicia Keys... and I'm good. Actually, more so the shoes, scarf and purse; I've been slippin in my belt pimpin but I digress.

No I don't.

I was at the hair dresser on Friday morning (gotta get right before school) when I recognized one of the old ladies from my church. Waving, I got a blank look back. Okay...Alzheimer's acting up...I understand. She looked at my feet and looked back at my face. Then the recognition hit her like a ton of bricks. No lie, she exclaimed, "Oh my goodness! Chile, I didn't recognize you without some fancy shoes on! (I had on flip flops...it was 9am). Ms. Jewel proceeded to tell the earlybird salon patrons and the stylists how I have the most wonderful shoe collection. "You didn't think I was looking did you? Especially when you walk up to Communion, that's when I get a good look! After service too!"

Ummm, aren't you supposed to be focused on taking in the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ? I really digress now.

The leopard print pumps...not mules, not strappy stilettos but PUMPS, have been all over InStyle for the past two or three issues and I am soooo pissed I have no money to cop some RIGHT now before someone at FAM gets a wind of it...

When you get your pumps, they can be peep-toe, they can be platform; peep-toe platform are the rage and, I'll let you get a slingback in. They are especially at their banginest (thx Ashli) when there's a hint of color. Red is the rave and looks good with most animal print (I so don't see it with pony, cow, or giraffe). I still want a knee length, zebra print spring jacket to wear with some red pumps, while carrying a red umbrella, and rocking a red scarf...I don't even like red. Turquoise... I'm seeing a peep-toe leopard print pump trimmed in turq leather and with tiny satin turquoise bows going up the back of the shoe. Oooh, with a khaki pencil skirt and dark chocolate brown boatneck sweater. Of course you'll have your turquoise scarf tied in the best Nicole Richie fashion (or whever accessory floats your boat to bring everything together) . Very 50s chic.

Anyway, its not really a forecast but it is good fashion. I'm setting you free to get some animal print pumps! Go!

P.S. for those of you who read InStyle, I had brocade pumps last fall. Steve Madden looks out for me and I'm looking out for you! Leopard print! Go! Brocade! Go!

I am SOOOO bitter about the animal print craze right now. Just before I moved back to Hampton for pharmacy school (summer 2002), I gave away all of these dhos that I just KNEW I would never wear again. Among them were at least five pairs of animal print shoes and boots. I usually try to shy away from things that are SO trendy, but I went beserk that year and bought everything they made in a size 11 that even LOOKED like it had been covering an animal. And now look at me... DYING to get a super hot pair of leopard pony hair pumps, but no money. And by the time I really start making good checks, the craze will be over. DAMMIT!!

I'm so glad Isaac is back for you! You know I can't watch him... poo.
Yo, we WERE talking abt ole girl with the leopard shoes months ago!! Damn! Well, if she's not wearing them, bring it back! You won't look like a copycat if its in NOW.

Joy, Christina is the POSTER child for animal print shoes! I think you should step into the wild side this fall/winter! Matter of fact, that's what InStyle said, "Girls Gone Wild" LOL
i love Steve. i really do.

LOL!!! Ashli!!! I was thinking of how this fashion moment can cross gender lines! I wanted to tell Ace to get a leopard belt but I feel he already has one... leave it to Hampton men to have some leopard loafers. Please tell me how many guys you see rocking a big cat. I bet someone will pull out a pony hair zebra wallet... to match his shoes that have the top in zebra

Damn X. I don't even know where to begin. The fact that you had FIVE animal print shoes or...naw just that.
Damn the new job!!! Girl, I'd comb Ross, Marshall's, and TJ Maxx! I'm sure there's something there!!

dude in leopard is GAY. and you will def see it at homecoming. i wasn't ready to drop 80 on some leopard shoes today. i can't do it. i found some red patent leather pumps today that were in my price range... but they were just too hooker. i couldn't do it. come on. we have to have a line somewhere. trendy does not mean whore!

the ones in your price range were probably for night ladies.

Ooh... I saw this white woman on the street today with some leopard boots. They were pointy toed with the tip of the tow being black leather and the back of the foot (the heel of the foot and the heel of the shoe) was black also. FIERCE. If those bad boys had even LOOKED like they were size 11's, I would've tried to shoe jack her! But then I remembered that she could've been my birth mother, so I backed off :)

x!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!! LMAO!!!! you are so foolish!! i def. would've put you in the newscast, too. "coming up... they call her 'the x factor' but maybe they should've called her a mother x-er. why one woman may be going to jail for killing her birth mother." it'd be fun. i'd obviously have to work on the tease but it'd be great.

ash... why joy try to play me? we can fight. we really can. they were $50. not that expensive but really. how much can you wear red patent leather shoes w/a wooden sole? the round toe is what got me, tho. it was too much.
